God sent Jesus into the world so that our sins could be forgiven. He lived a perfect life—healing people, loving them, and teaching them about God. He was put to death like a common criminal on a cross. When He died, He willingly took the sins of the world—yours and mine—and paid the penalty in our place. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but would have everlasting life."
On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave, displaying to the whole world that He has the power to give all of us everlasting life in Heaven with Him.
